About the position

KLA is seeking to build a talent community for Electrical Design Engineers, focusing on both PCB and system design. Although there are no current openings, the company is interested in learning about potential candidates' backgrounds for future opportunities. The role involves collaboration with various engineering teams to develop and test electronic systems and components essential for semiconductor manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Produce PCB designs and schematics, collaborating with layout engineers for fabrication.
• Characterize and test full PCB systems in conjunction with FPGA and firmware engineers.
• Develop electrical system designs, ensuring compatibility with mechanical engineering requirements.
• Create power distribution and interconnection diagrams, including safety interlocks and supporting hardware.

Requirements

• Master's Level Degree with 0 years related work experience; or Bachelor's Level Degree with 2 years related work experience.
• Familiarity with common electronic blocks such as power supply regulators, isolators, op-amps, ADCs/DACs.
• Experience with PCB design tools like OrCAD PCB, Altium, PADS, or Eagle.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ADS and Hyperlynx simulation tools.
• Familiarity with AC power distribution and programmable logic controllers.
• Skills in cable and fiber optic design, ladder logic, or soldering.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work on cross-disciplinary teams.
