As an Electrical Design Engineer Intern at Garmin International, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of electronic circuits, equipment, systems, and products. This full-time internship is based in Olathe, KS, and is designed for individuals who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting. Under the supervision of experienced engineers, you will engage in various tasks that will enhance your understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, debugging, and testing digital, analog, Radio Frequency (RF), and Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC). You will follow established test procedures to ensure that products comply with all applicable regulations and quality guidelines. Additionally, you will prepare test data and reports to assess whether the proposed designs meet functional and performance specifications. This role will also require you to learn and utilize software tools and test equipment to formulate and test electronic designs, as well as complete the necessary documentation in the required formats. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will interface with Test Engineers and factory personnel to facilitate the testing, production, and manufacturing of products. You will also perform cost/performance tradeoff analyses of different circuit options and investigate the latest components and technologies to enhance product performance and efficiency.
