About the position

As an Electrical Design Engineer at IMEG, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing innovative engineering solutions to our clients. This role is designed for new graduates who are eager to kickstart their careers in electrical engineering. You will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants, gaining hands-on experience in the design and implementation of electrical systems in various building projects. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering analysis, design, and oversight of electrical systems, ensuring that all work aligns with project budgets and client expectations. In this position, you will utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations that adhere to code requirements and IMEG standards. You will interact with clients to gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively, building and maintaining strong client relationships. Collaboration is key, as you will work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects, assisting in project planning and scheduling tasks to meet deadlines. You will also be responsible for documenting design decisions and monitoring project design progress. Analyzing low to medium complexity engineering tasks and proposing innovative solutions will be part of your daily activities. Additionally, you will participate in IMEG's quality control processes to ensure that all engineering designs meet industry standards and client requirements. Staying updated with industry trends and best practices in electrical engineering will be essential, as will prioritizing safety in all aspects of your work. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including architects and other engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems using engineering software and tools.
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs and gather project requirements.
  • Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects.
  • Assist with documenting design decisions and monitoring project design progress.
  • Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical solutions.
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in electrical engineering.
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics.
  • Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software and energy compliance software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred.
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred.
