As an Electrical Design Engineer at IMEG, you will be part of a dynamic team within one of the largest design consulting firms in the U.S. This position is designed for an Electrical Engineering Graduate- Designer 1, who will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to provide innovative engineering solutions and advice to clients. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring positive outcomes for various projects, particularly in the design and implementation of electrical systems in buildings. You will be expected to work within the project's monetary budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. In this role, you will assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems, utilizing advanced engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations that adhere to code requirements and IMEG standards. You will interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and effectively communicate technical information. Building and maintaining strong client relationships through professional communication will be essential. You will also support project execution by assisting in project planning and scheduling tasks to meet deadlines and objectives. Documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress will be part of your responsibilities. You will analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions, collaborating with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient designs. Quality control is a critical aspect of this position, and you will participate in IMEG's quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs meet both IMEG's and industry standards. Staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering will be expected, as will contributing to research, development, and innovation efforts within the company. Safety will be a priority in all aspects of your work, and you will identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers and architects, will be a key component of your role.
