About the position

The Electrical Design Engineer at Actalent is responsible for designing and calculating electrical systems, conducting tests, selecting equipment, and coordinating projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and timely completion. This role requires a strong technical background in electrical engineering and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and design conduit and cable routes, develop detailed electrical schematics and layouts, and modify and revise designs.
• Conduct electrical tests for Current Transformers (CTs) and Potential Transformers (PTs) and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Select appropriate electrical equipment such as Motor Control Centers (MCCs), breakers, and other components, and evaluate and recommend equipment based on project requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects within budget and scope.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in electrical design and engineering.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
• Proficiency in using design software such as Electrical AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
• Ability to read and interpret basic electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NETA, and other industry codes.
