About the position

The Electrical Engineer is a key member of the engineering team responsible for the analysis, design, and testing of electrical architecture and circuitry in fuel cell systems. This role involves modifying existing designs and creating new circuits to enhance performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. The engineer will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure that designs meet cross-functional requirements and improve the end-user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, test and document electrical components and layouts for new and existing products.
  • Perform various electrical tests for electrical and systems engineering.
  • Write test plans for printed circuit boards, electrical hardware, and systems.
  • Perform system troubleshooting and author incident reports.
  • Incorporate field data from customers and manufacturing constraints into design work efforts.
  • Manage project assignments with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an understanding of high-priority engineering projects and contribute as needed.
  • Build effective internal relationships and work cross-functionally for project assignments.
  • Seek opportunities to grow knowledge of company products and engineering through collaboration.
  • Represent Plug Power professionally in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience, preferably in a manufacturing operation.
  • Embedded system design and analysis experience required.
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 20%.
  • Experience in C programming with an understanding of writing code and drivers for embedded systems.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in designing and building electronic subsystems.
  • Experience in digital and analog circuit design and analysis.
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Teamwork-oriented with superior communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
  • Driven, self-motivated, and committed to work quality.
