About the position

The Electrical Design Engineer at Actalent is responsible for designing and calculating electrical systems, developing detailed schematics, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role involves testing and commissioning electrical equipment, collaborating with project teams, and maintaining high accuracy in design and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and design conduit and cable routes.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics and layouts.
• Modify and revise designs.
• Select appropriate electrical equipment such as Motor Control Centers (MCCs), breakers, and other components.
• Evaluate and recommend equipment based on project requirements and specifications.
• Select instruments such as RTDs, pressure/level transducers, thermal relays, and others.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and scope.
• Maintain a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
• Proficiently use design software such as Electrical AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
• Read and interpret basic electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NETA, and other industry codes.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in design and calculations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in electrical design and engineering.
• Proficiency in electrical design and AutoCAD electrical.
• Experience with electrical schematics, testing and commissioning, and equipment selection.
