About the position

The Electrical Designer-Drafter position at Knobelsdorff involves transforming engineering designs into detailed construction documents for renewable energy projects. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and the use of software like AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit to create precise models and layouts for various electrical systems. This position plays a crucial role in supporting design-build projects across the nation, particularly in solar energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work and construction documents with internal stakeholders.
• Model equipment and raceways in both 2D and 3D, including clash detection with other disciplines.
• Create DC String Layouts and Site Trench Layouts.
• Design PV layouts and work with electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, inverters, and motors.
• Create and edit schedules including panel schedules and conduit/cable schedules.
• Assist with digital layout by creating as-built models and reconciling design-intent models with as-built conditions.

Requirements

• High School diploma
• AAS Degree/Diploma in Design/Drafting
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
• 1+ year of relevant experience in electrical drafting
• Experience with Autodesk Revit for Electrical Design
• Detail-oriented with a professional attitude
• Good communication skills and a team player
• Basic understanding of Architectural, Electrical, Civil, and Structural engineering practices
• Experience with Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
