About the position

The Electrical Designer will work within the Engineering Department at Fidelity Manufacturing, focusing on the design and development of electrical circuits and control systems for backup power generation products. This role is essential for ensuring the production, sales, and engineering departments operate efficiently and effectively. The position requires collaboration with various teams and stakeholders to meet project goals and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical circuits and control systems for new products and product changes.
  • Use software tools to analyze and create electronic circuits or systems and document them according to design criteria.
  • Gather product information and read design specifications.
  • Collaborate with customers, engineers, and other departments to communicate needs and assist with processes.
  • Create Bills of Material for entry into the MRP software system.
  • Update files and maintain consistency with engineering records and part drawings.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes and process orders.
  • Meet agreed-upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
  • Interact professionally with organizational team members and other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in electrical systems design.
  • Strong organizational skills and a process improvement mindset.
  • Commitment and engagement through a strong work ethic and initiative.
  • Ability to solve problems and work in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Good research skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with medium voltage electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards including NEC, ANSI, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, and UL.
  • Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Research & Development experience including concept, design, modeling, prototyping, testing, and production support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in the Power Generation Industry.
  • Familiarity with other electrical software.
