About the position
The Electrical Designer IV position at CDI Engineering Solutions involves preparing CADD drawings and supporting electrical design projects within the petrochemical industry. The role is designed to enhance the individual's job knowledge and skills under the supervision of a Senior Designer, emphasizing safety and quality in design practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare CADD drawings from design sketches and verbal instructions provided by the Engineer and/or the Senior Designer.
- Demonstrate a continuing awareness and implementation of safety practices in the workplace and in the production of CADD drawings.
- Perform related support tasks such as updating computer lists, filing prints, and distributing drawings.
- Participate in company mandated Safety and Quality training.
- Prepare legible sketches and field notes that include all pertinent dimensions, notes, and job number.
- Use time efficiently and keep the supervisor informed of progress.
- Support field assignments as required.
Requirements
- A minimum of seven (7) years of technical work experience in the Electrical field in the petrochemical industry.
- Proficiency in utilizing manual drafting techniques and a working knowledge in CADD equipment.
- Ability to learn new software as required.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues involving multiple variables using logical thought processes.
