About the position
The Electrical Design Drafter will work remotely under the guidance of design engineers to create and develop project design drawings for pipeline, compressor, and measurement/regulator facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring that design packages are completed accurately and in compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of design engineers to develop project design drawing requirements.
- Draft and design electrical/instrumentation drawings, including schematics, equipment layout, panel layout, and cable & conduit design/schedules.
- Prepare multiple view drawings and details.
- Provide design engineering personnel with drawings and supporting records for evaluating the project design relative to feasibility and effectiveness of the facility layout.
- Ensure proper dimensioning, completeness of material quantities and specifications, and design needs relative to regulatory and industry codes.
- Schedule conduit and cable.
- Layout panels.
- Create single line wiring diagrams.
- Design hazardous area layouts.
Requirements
- Proficiency in electrical design and AutoCAD, & Plant3D.
- Experience in the oil & gas industry, particularly with compressor stations.
- Strong understanding of electrical standards, schematic designs and Revit.
- Ability to prepare detailed drawings and multiple view drawings.
- Associate degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or specialized courses in drafting, design & engineering practices.
- 3+ years of related experience in pipeline/natural gas.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
