Morrison-Maierle is seeking mid-level Electrical Distribution Engineers to join our expanding Industrial operations within the Buildings Group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with our existing Electrical Engineers to design power distribution systems and develop construction drawings for Substation expansion projects. The successful candidates will engage in innovative engineering assignments under the guidance of a Project Engineer or Project Manager, contributing to the design and execution of various electrical distribution projects. As part of the Electrical Power Design group, you will be responsible for performing routine engineering tasks, including distribution planning, modeling, coordination, line design, and line staking. You will design high voltage and medium voltage projects (less than 34.5kV) with clear objectives and multiple variables, catering to various clients across the region. Your role will involve working on small projects independently while assisting senior engineers on larger projects, conducting analyses to develop design options, and performing system modeling, coordination studies, and overhead line design calculations. Familiarity with Milsoft software modeling is a plus. In addition to design responsibilities, you will assist in preparing construction cost estimates, participate in field reviews or construction observations, and coordinate the work of the electrical design team on large institutional and industrial projects through the schematic design development and construction document phases. You will also conduct work sessions at project sites alongside the Project Manager and other engineering disciplines, write and edit electrical technical specifications, select equipment and electrical systems, and manage communication with affected disciplines regarding addenda, RFIs, and change orders. Furthermore, you will provide construction contract administration as needed and conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators, or Technicians. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
