About the position

The Electrical Distribution Systems Technician at Battle Motors is responsible for supporting the electrical system design and integration of both conventional and all-electric vehicles. This role involves developing electrical schematics, wire harness layouts, and manufacturing documentation, as well as conducting electrical component testing. The technician will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure effective design and implementation of electrical systems in vehicles, contributing to the company's growth in the EV technology sector.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and release of electrical schematics/diagrams.
  • Design and layout wire harnesses.
  • Create wire harness manufacturing designs.
  • Prepare documentation such as BOM and Work Instructions.
  • Support the design of electrical architecture and power distribution for EVs.
  • Work on wiring harness specifications and testing processes.
  • Prepare thorough documentation of designs.
  • Develop application-specific designs and innovative solutions.
  • Support cost-savings initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and manufacturing workers.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot vehicle harnesses throughout development processes.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent, with relevant industry experience.
  • Associates degree in a related field preferred.
  • Electrical certification required.
  • Good understanding of automotive harness design and management.
  • Experience with automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Hands-on experience in developing automotive electrical systems and hardware.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical system design, safety, EMI, EMC, HVIL.
  • Experience in harness certification for IEEE, SAE, and EMI standards.
  • Understanding of high voltage energy storage and charge systems in EVs.
  • Familiarity with related regulations, FMVSS/SAE standards, and practices.
