About the position

The Electrical Drafter will assist Electrical Engineers in various engineering functions, focusing on the preparation of detailed wiring diagrams, circuit board assembly diagrams, and layout drawings for electrical equipment. This role involves drafting detailed and assembly drawings, reviewing completed construction drawings, and consulting with engineers to ensure design concepts are accurately interpreted and implemented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Electrical Engineers in all aspects of the engineering function.
• Prepare wiring diagrams, circuit board assembly diagrams, and layout drawings used for the manufacture, installation, or repair of electrical equipment.
• Draft detail and assembly drawings of design components, circuitry, or printed circuit boards, using computer-assisted equipment or standard drafting techniques and devices.
• Draft working drawings, wiring diagrams, wiring connection specifications, or cross-sections of underground cables, as required for instructions to the installation crew.
• Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets to be checked by an engineer or an architect.
• Review completed construction drawings and cost estimates for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations.
• Consult with engineers to discuss or interpret design concepts or determine requirements of detailed working drawings.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Drafting experience (preferred electrical field drafting experience).
• An associate degree or higher or a combination of education and/or experience.
• Well-versed in CAD design and other engineering software.
• Proven ability to design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, or domestic purposes (power generation experience preferred).
