About the position

The Electrical Engineer position in Mission Processing Test Engineering at Collins Aerospace focuses on developing and sustaining manufacturing and service test equipment. The role involves reverse engineering existing equipment, troubleshooting hardware and software, and utilizing various software development skills. The engineer will work with multi-rack test stations and coordinate test equipment design reviews, ensuring comprehensive test solutions for manufacturing and service environments.

Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer existing equipment by documenting current builds.
  • Work unsupervised and multitask while delegating work to support technicians and engineering staff.
  • Utilize software skills in LabView, Visual Basic, JAVA, and .NET.
  • Coordinate hardware builds including parts ordering and build coordination.
  • Conduct test equipment design reviews and generate appropriate design documentation.
  • Design and implement activities to deploy project test solutions globally.
  • Review product designs and create test solutions to maximize test coverage.
  • Prepare and present project and technical information to peers and management.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field, or 6 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
  • Proven experience with software skills in Python and C#.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in reviewing product designs and creating test solutions that maximize test coverage.
  • Experience with software skills in LabView, Visual Basic, JAVA, and .NET.
  • Familiarity with test stations and COTs equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMM's, logic analyzers, and electronic loads.
