About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at PPM Technologies Holdings LLC involves designing and testing customized large-scale food manufacturing equipment. The role requires proficiency in mechanical systems, particularly in burners and thermal mechanics, and involves collaboration with other engineers and project managers to ensure equipment compatibility and functionality. The engineer will also provide technical support to customers and assist with equipment startup at customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in burners, thermal and fryer mechanics
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of combustion and gas train assemblies
  • Connect wires to PLCs, motors, VFDs, circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
  • Design customized large-scale food manufacturing equipment to customer specifications
  • Focus on coating drums, powder dispensing, and liquid spray equipment
  • Work with other engineers and project managers to ensure equipment compatibility
  • Test and quality check designed equipment once built
  • Conduct FEA of vibratory conveyors and fryers
  • Application testing of new customer products
  • Support the manufacturing organization
  • Provide technical support to customers with assistance from the service department
  • Travel to customer sites to assist with equipment startup
  • Assist other departments as required and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BSME diploma or equivalent is required
  • 0-3 years of previous manufacturing experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Solid model CAD design skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful in finding solutions
  • Knowledge of food processing or related product lines is a plus
  • Ability to work well within a team and make independent decisions

Nice-to-haves

  • General knowledge of a custom machinery environment
