About the position

As an Electrical Engineer at Black & Veatch, you will play a crucial role in addressing significant infrastructure challenges. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across various functional areas, including Substation, Transmission, Distribution, and more, contributing to the company's growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Understand departmental design guides, engineering codes, standards, and company policies.
  • Assist in producing less complex electrical engineering deliverables like reports, drawings, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
  • Complete routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and material selection.
  • Collect, manage, and assimilate engineering data for projects.
  • Prepare fundamental power system analysis and electrical component sizing calculations based on established engineering principles.
  • Adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Understand internal client needs and external client interests.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • No experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Coursework and knowledge of Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations.
  • Previous internship experience.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, design guides and standards.
  • Insights of industry trends and developing technologies.
  • Fundamental knowledge of construction practices and principles.
  • Skilled in Problem Solving, Written Communication, Informing, and Peer Relationships.
