About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Collins Aerospace focuses on Test Equipment Design, where the engineer will develop and optimize test systems for advanced aerospace products. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and quality of electronic products, making it essential for both commercial and military applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative test equipment and systems for evaluating electronic products.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics and circuit designs tailored to testing requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with test equipment and systems during design and production phases.
  • Collaborate with product engineers and manufacturing teams to understand testing needs and integrate feedback into design improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for test equipment designs, including schematics and user manuals.
  • Ensure compliance of test equipment with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • U.S. citizenship required for access to information under this program/contract.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience reading and analyzing electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of cable harness design.
  • Familiarity with common test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, power supply) and signal protocols (I2C, SPI, LVDS, ARINC).
  • Understanding of signal integrity techniques and fiber optics.
  • Experience in developing specifications and component selection.
