In this role, you will have the opportunity to function as an entry level substation design engineer. Substation design encompasses distribution, sub-transmission and transmission level voltage classes. You will develop electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design (protective relays) and/or physical design, interface directly with clients, vendors and subcontractors, and collaborate with peers and strong mentors to help you develop your skills on a wide range of complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design (protective relays) and/or physical design.
  • Interface directly with clients, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with peers and strong mentors to help develop skills on a wide range of complex projects.
  • Prepare and verify less complex engineering deliverables.
  • Perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
  • Prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
  • Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with others as assigned by supervisor or project leadership.
  • Focus on the needs of internal clients while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program.
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • High Voltage (HV) Substation Design Experience – Physical and/or P&C (protection and controls).
  • Consulting / Engineering Design Experience.
