About the position

The Electrical Engineer 2 at Parker Hannifin will provide essential Electrical Engineering expertise and support throughout all phases of product development, from initial design to production. This role requires a blend of electrical and mechanical engineering skills to contribute to the development of components and control systems. The engineer will be responsible for designing, testing, maintaining, and improving electronic components or products, ensuring they meet the high standards expected in the aerospace and high-technology markets. In this position, the Electrical Engineer 2 will solve technical problems by leveraging their experience, judgment, and established precedents. They will prepare a variety of reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information, and will be expected to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders. The role demands a high level of independent judgment and discretion when evaluating courses of action, making decisions after considering multiple options. Regular attendance is crucial, and the engineer may need to work nights, weekends, or additional hours as necessary to meet project deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering, and a minimum of three years of relevant experience. They will demonstrate expertise in core engineering concepts, applied mathematics, and possess strong problem-solving skills. The role also requires proficiency in data structures and database programming, as well as the ability to gather and analyze data effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Electrical Engineering expertise for a range of activities; designing, testing, maintaining, and improving electronic components or products
  • Solves technical problems using a combination of experience, judgment, and precedents
  • Applies expertise in both electrical and mechanical engineering in various aspects of the development of components and control systems
  • Prepares a range of reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Communicates complex technical information to others in a clear and effective manner
  • Uses discretion and independent judgment when evaluating courses of action; makes decisions after considering various options
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Maintains regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, with potential for variable schedules and additional hours as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Demonstrated expertise and ability to apply core concepts of engineering
  • Excellent knowledge of applied mathematics
  • Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Advanced knowledge of data structures and database programming
  • Ability to improve products or services by applying professional and business knowledge
  • Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
  • Ability to research and analyze data effectively
