About the position

The Electrical Engineer 3 position involves planning, designing, developing, testing, and coordinating activities related to electrical and electronic components and systems. The role requires exercising judgment and applying standard engineering principles under the guidance of a supervisor or more experienced engineer. The engineer will be responsible for project execution, ensuring contract compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial returns for complex projects. This position also emphasizes the importance of developing engineering documentation and maintaining close contact with customers to identify and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, support, and coordinate major project requirements and specifications.
• Determine the most effective means of accomplishing objectives and develop schedules for technical deliverables.
• Ensure overall efforts align with customer and company requirements.
• Develop detailed engineering documentation including Single Line Diagrams, Power System Studies, Network Diagrams, and Substation Layouts.
• Perform electrical system integration utilizing IEC 61850 and other industrial communication protocols.
• Maintain close contact with customers and project participants to identify and resolve issues.
• Ensure timely contract completion, customer satisfaction, and desired financial return.
• Manage project risks to avoid penalties, warranty repairs, or other charges.
• Develop business projections and implement strategies to achieve growth and profitability objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 8 years of detailed design experience in electrical engineering.
• Professional engineering license is required.
• Direct engineering experience on projects with HV/MV/LV switchgear, motor controls, VFDs, transformers, and electrical SCADA systems.
• Experience programming PLCs, protective relays, and other industrial automation devices.
