As an Electrical Engineer 5 in the Industrial Manufacturing sector at Black & Veatch, you will play a pivotal role in leading projects that encompass the management of project schedules, budgets, and staffing within the Industrial Manufacturing Solution team. This team focuses on various industries, including manufacturing, ag/bio-process, and food/beverage. Your responsibilities will include providing technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff involved in detailed design projects. You will serve as a technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems, offering consultations to clients and ensuring that their needs are met effectively. In this position, you will lead the design of facility power distribution systems, including Power Distribution Panels, Motor Control, and Electrical Room Layout, as well as process electrical distribution, which involves power and control wiring from control panels to equipment and field devices in a manufacturing or industrial processing environment. You will also support business development efforts by contributing to proposal scope approaches and estimating related to enhanced electrical services. Building strong business relationships with clients to understand their needs and drivers will be essential, as will conducting construction inspections and resolving electrical construction issues. Additionally, you will coordinate with local electrical utilities on project technical needs, review supplier submittals, and act as a liaison between the design team, clients, and remote design teams for Instrumentation and Control design. Your role will also involve the startup and testing of major electrical equipment, ensuring that you continuously learn and develop your technical expertise in your specialty area. This position will support projects across North America, and you will be based at the Corporate Headquarters in Overland Park, KS.
