About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Schaeffler Group USA Inc. involves providing comprehensive engineering design services for assigned projects from inception to field commissioning. This role is critical in ensuring that all engineering documentation is accurately produced, adhering to custom specifications and industry standards. The engineer will be responsible for evaluating manufacturing and assembly methods and materials to ensure optimal design and functionality. In this position, the engineer will also serve as a key resource for engineering information, addressing questions and requests from various stakeholders. A significant aspect of the role includes resolving discrepancies between design and fabrication requirements, which may involve modifying designs or coordinating with vendors for parts. Collaboration is essential, as the engineer will work closely with Test Technicians to troubleshoot designs and ensure project completion. Maintaining the product and company reputation is paramount, necessitating compliance with applicable regulations and standards. As the engineer gains experience, they will be expected to work with increasing independence, relying less on assistance from other departments such as project management and purchasing. Additional responsibilities include evaluating assigned projects through research and applying advanced knowledge of electricity and materials. The engineer will release projects to manufacturing by preparing bills of materials, generating electrical schematics, and developing application-specific programs. They will also maintain drawing and program revisions through Engineering Change Notices and may represent engineering functions during Factory Witness Tests. The role may require some travel as the engineer gains experience, and collaboration with various teams, including Project Management, Applications, Drafting/Design, and Sales, is essential for success.
