About the position

Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to work on system design, implementation, and release to manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system design, analog and digital circuit design, possess good communication skills, and have the ability to lead a team of Electrical Engineers. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in team settings. This position reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager. In this role, you will be working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production, which includes design, prototyping, validation, testing, and certification. You will lead and support a technical team on multiple projects in parallel, ensuring that all activities within the engineering discipline for the project are coordinated effectively. A thorough understanding of technical principles and concepts in Electrical Engineering is essential, as you will be responsible for writing and developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures. You will also be tasked with architecting, designing, and implementing complex embedded systems, as well as analog and digital circuit design and systems debugging. Supporting product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments will be a key part of your responsibilities, along with executing tasks to aggressive schedules. Additionally, you will establish development processes to meet industry standards for functionally safe control systems (IEC 61508).

Responsibilities

  • Working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing and certification

Requirements

  • 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
  • Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
