About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at NASA's Kennedy Space Center involves serving as the Deep Space Logistics electrical engineer within the Spacecraft Electrical and Data Systems Branch. The role focuses on evaluating electrical and avionics designs for the Deep Space Logistics Module, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and conducting qualification and acceptance testing. The engineer will collaborate with commercial providers and multi-discipline teams to assess and enhance electrical power systems, fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion within the team.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering hardware design qualification and acceptance evaluation and analysis that comply with agency standards, industry best practices, and program requirements.
• Conduct hardware insight activities and collaborate with commercial providers to understand design and development issues related to electrical engineering power systems.
• Provide expertise in assessing aerospace engineering hardware design as it relates to electrical power systems.
• Perform or support Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, and Readiness Reviews to ensure compliance with agency standards and readiness.
• Collaborate and lead discussions with multi-discipline teams to ensure electrical engineering power designs meet program requirements.

Requirements

• Specialized experience in electrical engineering, including applying fundamental concepts and principles.
• Experience interpreting and analyzing electrical schematics and single line diagrams.
• Ability to work in a team environment to achieve goals and objectives.
