Arconic is currently in search of an Electrical Engineer to join our Tennessee Operations in Alcoa, Tennessee. The successful candidate will provide engineering support to maintenance and operations within the Tennessee Operations facility. This role involves supporting safety initiatives, restoring product flow, and providing technical solutions to recurring design and process problems. The Electrical Engineer will analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions and system improvements to address those opportunities. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing capital projects, major repairs, and maintenance projects, while also providing some process engineering support. Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations.
  • Support safety initiatives and restore product flow.
  • Provide technical solutions to recurring design and process problems.
  • Analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop solutions and system improvements to address identified opportunities.
  • Develop, manage, and implement capital projects and major repairs.
  • Provide process engineering support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an electrical engineering field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ladder logic and programming/troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's).
  • Experience specifying, installing, and troubleshooting DC and AC motor drives systems.
  • Experience with networking equipment, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Experience with power distribution systems.
  • Manufacturing experience in the metals or similar industry, with aluminum rolling or processing preferred.
  • Experience with rolling mills and mill controls, shears, strip processing and coiling, metal process furnaces or casting equipment.
  • Technical knowledge to support the installation, operation, and repair of electrical controls and automation technology.
  • Previous experience with data acquisition systems and data analytics.
  • Experience in justifying, managing, and executing capital projects.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
