About the position

The Electrical Engineer Automation position is a critical role within our organization, focusing on the implementation of electrical and automation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing capital expense projects (CAPEX) from inception to completion, ensuring that all projects align with the company's operational goals and safety standards. This role requires a hands-on approach, as the engineer will support process optimization efforts throughout the facility, working closely with various teams to enhance operational efficiency. In this position, the engineer will provide technical coordination and support in both operating and capital expense management processes. This includes initiating and running projects that involve equipment monitoring, stabilization, and improvements. The engineer will also be responsible for detailed engineering work in areas such as instrumentation, PLC, power distribution, and equipment integration. This encompasses electrical design, power distribution design, and automation system design, all of which are essential for the successful execution of projects. The role also involves troubleshooting existing equipment and processes, developing and refining engineering procedures, and conducting process sample and data collection and interpretation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of safety policies and standards applicable to industrial operations, as well as the ability to lead and participate in team-oriented work groups. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical coordination and support in the operating and capital expense management processes by initiating and running projects using the capital expense (CAPEX) project, equipment monitoring, stabilization, and improvements.
  • Responsible for detailed engineering work in the areas of instrumentation, PLC, power distribution, and equipment integration which includes electrical design, power distribution design, and automation system design.
  • Provide Technical Support for Operations working closely with leaders on Operational Improvements.
  • Troubleshooting of Existing Equipment and Processes.
  • Develop and refine engineering procedures.
  • Process sample and data collection and interpretation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3-8 Years of Industrial, Hands-On Experience planning and installing electrical equipment and automation controls.
  • ISA Certified Automation Professional Certification (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated project management experience which includes planning, budgeting, design, execution, scheduling, procurement, installation and start up of electrical controls equipment and instrumentation.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing the performance of electrical control systems on production machines and equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in Industrial Safety and Construction Methods.
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in all Microsoft software such as Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. and advanced drawing skills with Auto-Cad.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of equipment, machine design standards and specifications and machine safety design, including ANSI, ASTM, FM, NFPA, and IEC.
  • Knowledge of NFPA-70 and NFPA-70E.
  • Knowledge of database systems for process control applications.
  • Installation and strong programming capability with Rockwell Automation PLC systems.
  • Working knowledge of automation communication systems.
  • Installation set up and troubleshooting abilities with AC and DC drives and motors.
