About the position

The Electrical Engineer - Autonomy & Robotics role at DoorDash Labs involves developing and manufacturing autonomous delivery robots and other automation solutions. The position requires collaboration with various engineering teams to design and implement electrical systems that will significantly enhance last-mile logistics. The successful candidate will contribute to building innovative robotic systems that impact a billion-dollar business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manufacture the new autonomous delivery robot platform.
  • Collaborate with Hardware Engineering and Technician teams to prepare for product launch.
  • Design and architect a wide range of electrical systems for delivery robots.
  • Ship tangible product concepts that have a meaningful impact on the business.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • B.S., M.S., or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of industry experience, particularly in autonomous vehicle or automotive industries.
  • Experience in taking board designs from product definition through PCB production.
  • Knowledge of DC power management systems, especially in automotive applications.
  • Familiarity with ethernet/PCIe/USB/MIPI/GMSL2/SPI/I2C in automotive/autonomous vehicle applications.
  • Working knowledge of RF and antenna systems for GNSS/WiFi/Cellular.
  • Experience with harness design for signal integrity/power integrity applications.
  • Experience with electric vehicle or mobile robotics safety systems.
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot complex systems, including debugging ground loops and noise mitigation.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and scaling hardware designs.
  • Proficiency in designing circuits and harness drawings using Altium Designer/Allegro Cadence.
  • A passion for building robots and autonomous vehicles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of signal/power integrity enhancement.
  • Experience with multi-voltage power systems.
