About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Bayer Power Plant focuses on supporting electrical distribution and infrastructure projects within Bayer's Crop Science division. The role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with electrical norms and standards, maintaining electrical infrastructure, and providing engineering and project management services. The engineer will work on high and medium voltage systems, ensuring safety and reliability while contributing to the advancement of regenerative agriculture technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Crop Science Row Crop Production sites to support electrical norms and practices.
  • Bridge capital investment and routine maintenance requirements for electrical distribution projects.
  • Support maintenance and reliability phases of electrical infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and collaborate with the Health and Safety group.
  • Coordinate and maintain technical documentation such as Arc Flash studies and One-Line diagrams.
  • Evaluate and provide electrical engineering and project management services for infrastructure projects.
  • Develop, review, and approve electrical specifications and drawings.
  • Provide direction and support to electrical designers and field engineers.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines and vendors to ensure project execution.
  • Manage relationships with Regional Electrical Power Providers regarding system load changes.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in Electrical Power Distribution, or MS with at least 6 years, or Ph.D. with a minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Experience with DC/AC voltage up to 13.2kV
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NFPA 70 and 70E)
  • Experienced in reliability centered maintenance and engineering
  • Competent in asset performance management
  • Experienced in using SKM PowerTools for fault calculations and load flow studies
  • Good knowledge of planned preventive and predictive maintenance principles.
