About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Bayer Power Plant focuses on supporting electrical infrastructure and maintenance within the Crop Science division. The role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with electrical standards, managing projects related to electrical distribution, and enhancing safety protocols. The engineer will also be responsible for technical documentation and providing support during the commissioning of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and reliability phases of electrical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers and other engineering disciplines to generate support for electrical distribution projects.
  • Work with the electrical team for the startup of new or modified electrical infrastructure equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and coordinate with the Health and Safety group.
  • Maintain technical documentation including Arc Flash studies and Load Studies.
  • Evaluate and provide electrical engineering services to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop, review, and approve electrical specifications and drawings.
  • Provide direction to electrical designers and field engineers for proper installation and maintenance.
  • Interface with regional electrical power providers for system load changes and outages.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in Electrical Power Distribution or MS with at least 6 years' experience, or Ph.D. with a minimum of 4 years' experience
  • Experience with DC/AC voltage up to 13.2kV
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NFPA 70 and 70E)
  • Experienced in reliability centered maintenance and engineering
  • Knowledgeable in effective asset performance management
  • Experienced in using SKM PowerTools for fault calculations and load flow studies
  • Good knowledge of planned preventive and predictive maintenance principles.
