About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Jacobs in Boise, ID, focuses on delivering complex construction packages for advanced semiconductor manufacturing and other state-of-the-art facilities. The role involves technical quality assurance, schedule management, and effective communication of design changes. Engineers will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and may supervise less experienced staff, contributing to the design and installation of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex construction packages including tool installation design.
  • Accountable for schedule and technical quality of assigned engineering tasks.
  • Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly.
  • Coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
  • Produce single-line diagrams depicting electrical power systems and installation details.
  • Support senior engineers in selection and specification of electrical equipment.
  • Provide on-site assistance during startups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy from an ABET accredited University.
  • Minimum 6 years of Electrical Engineering experience related to facility engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) actively pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Idaho.
  • Knowledge and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Working knowledge of CAD and/or BIM modeling software.
  • Strong skill set to digitally markup drawings using applications like Autodesk Design Review and BIM360.
  • Experience working in construction environments including field verifications.
  • Familiarity with design and construction project delivery.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and application of other NFPA codes and industry standards.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) or ability to obtain in the State of Idaho.
  • Experience leading a small team.
  • Experience with semiconductor tool installation.
  • Experience with project scoping and development.
  • Experience with PTW SKM power analysis software, Easypower and/or ETAP.
  • Experience with NavisWorks and/or Revit BIM software.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability for forward thinking and eagerness to learn best practices.
