About the position

The Electrical Engineer - Camera Hardware position at Apple involves designing and developing innovative camera technology for Apple products. The role focuses on creating exceptional camera experiences by working on hardware components such as image sensors, microcontrollers, and power supplies. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the performance and quality of camera hardware, contributing to the overall user experience in photography.

Responsibilities

  • Determine component level requirements and develop schematic designs for innovative camera module components.
  • Analyze circuit parasitics and tolerances to ensure correct operation over specified voltage and temperature ranges.
  • Supervise layout for PCB, Flex, and substrates.
  • Familiarity with challenges relating to power quality, high-speed signal integrity, and control interface.
  • Author clear and comprehensive electrical documentation for design and manufacturing partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to simulate, test, and validate performance of all designs.
  • Develop electronic prototypes for new camera features and product concepts.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of camera systems and hardware design.
  • Experience with schematic design and component-level requirements.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout and design principles.
  • Familiarity with power quality and high-speed signal integrity challenges.
  • Ability to author comprehensive electrical documentation.
