About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at UL, LLC is a hybrid role focused on supporting the CMIT team with a strong technical background in electrical engineering, particularly in small appliances. The role involves project management, client communication, and technical assistance, ensuring compliance with UL standards and requirements. The engineer will work on-site three days a week in Fremont, CA, and will engage in various tasks including project planning, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Determine project scope and develop preliminary plans of investigation.
• Analyze client input and product construction to establish project specifications.
• Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues and negotiate project details.
• Provide technical assistance regarding product inspection and follow-up services.
• Examine samples for compliance with UL requirements and notify clients of any non-compliance.
• Coordinate laboratory activities and prepare data sheets for technicians.
• Communicate project status and results to clients through reports and frequent contact.
• Integrate continuous improvement concepts into all aspects of the job.
• Assist in the development of UL requirements and special test methods.
• Represent UL at industry-related functions.

Requirements

• University Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics from an accredited program.
• No prior experience required.
