We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-Op student to assume a key role within the Communication Products Engineering Department in Mission Systems. You will be designing and developing digital hardware used in high performance communication products that are critical to the defense of our nation, such as sophisticated software-defined radios and data links designed for use in various ground, airborne, and space applications. This position is onsite, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive. In this role, you will perform circuit card design lifecycle activities including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, signal integrity analysis, creation of printed circuit board stackup and routing instructions, coordination and review of printed wiring board layout, creation of test plans, and root cause analysis. You will create and analyze electrical schematics, select components necessary to implement the design requirements, perform test and troubleshooting of electronic circuitry, and assist with digital hardware factory and field failure root cause analysis. This position offers a unique opportunity to merge theoretical knowledge gained in school with practical engineering applications, enhancing your technical skills in all phases of hardware design.
