About the position
The Electrical Engineer Design (NPG) B position at TVA Nuclear involves planning, scheduling, and conducting detailed phases of electrical engineering work for major projects. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering practices, including the ability to address complex design challenges and coordinate with various engineering disciplines. The engineer will work independently on most assignments while receiving guidance on complex issues, and may supervise or coordinate the work of other engineers and technicians.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and conduct detailed phases of electrical engineering work.
- Perform conventional electrical engineering practices with complex features.
- Evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques and procedures for projects.
- Provide procurement, field engineering, modifications, maintenance, and testing support.
- Supervise or coordinate the work of multidiscipline engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited curriculum.
- Professional Engineer license is desirable.
- Membership in professional and technical societies is desirable.
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access and medical qualifications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electrical engineering through completion of Engineering Graduate Progression Plan or equivalent.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with AC and DC systems design.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and procurement processes.
