About the position

The Electrical Engineer Design (NPG) B position at TVA Nuclear involves planning, scheduling, and conducting detailed phases of electrical engineering work for major projects. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering practices, including the ability to address complex design challenges and coordinate with various engineering disciplines. The engineer will work independently on most assignments while receiving guidance on complex issues, and may supervise or coordinate the work of other engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct detailed phases of electrical engineering work.
  • Evaluate and select standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for engineering tasks.
  • Devise new approaches to problems encountered in electrical engineering projects.
  • Provide procurement, field engineering, modifications, maintenance, and testing support.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of multidiscipline engineers, drafters, and technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited curriculum.
  • Professional Engineer license is desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in electrical engineering through completion of Engineering Graduate Progression Plan or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access and S-3 and S-4 medical qualifications.
  • Willingness to assume on-call rotational assignments and work rotating shifts.
