About the position

Looking to bring on an Entry Level Electrical Engineer in May 2025. This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing oil and gas facility electrical systems. This position will also offer the opportunity to support the design of power plants and other industrial facilities. As an Electrical Engineer, you will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues. You will assist the project lead in efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget. Additionally, you will support the project lead in coordinating systems design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements. You will assist in preparing detailed calculations, including three phase power transient studies, voltage drop, and protective relay settings. Involvement in preparing documentation for design input for drawing production is also expected. You will interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations and prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a project team environment with engineers and designers on electrical systems for oil and gas facilities.
  • Support the design of power plants and other industrial facilities.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a variety of electrical engineering issues.
  • Assist the project lead in ensuring projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinate systems design activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements.

  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly and concisely.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a graduation date of Spring 2025 or earlier from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • Knowledge in Oil and Gas or industrial plant design, focusing on integrated, detailed system design for new facilities or modifications to existing facilities.
  • Knowledge of electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems, communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and preparation of calculations and specifications.
  • Construction and start-up experience.
  • Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems for systems design.
  • Experience serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
  • Experience in reviewing other engineers' design calculations and drawings.
