Coffman Engineers, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team in Dallas, TX. As a part of our multi-discipline engineering firm, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including commercial, institutional, alternative energy, military, and industrial sectors. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within a collaborative environment, supporting our team in providing diverse and technically challenging electrical, controls, and telecommunication system designs. You will work closely with licensed professional engineers and design professionals, receiving training and mentorship to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the design and implementation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. You will have the chance to engage in larger project teams, contributing to the successful delivery of projects while developing your professional capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with a strong desire to learn and work collaboratively with a team of professionals. Attention to detail, integrity, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work are essential attributes for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of electrical systems for various projects.
  • Collaborate with licensed professional engineers and design professionals.
  • Research applicable codes and standards to inform design decisions.
  • Participate in larger project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide support in the development of controls and telecommunication system designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 0-3 years of experience in electrical design, construction, or related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 software & applications.
  • Ability to work and collaborate in larger project teams.
  • Ability to work independently with proper engineering oversight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire to learn and work with a team of professionals.
  • Attention to detail, integrity, and personal pride in a job well done.

Nice-to-haves

  • Engineer in Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Experience with power system analysis software (ETAP, EasyPower, SKM etc).
  • Experience with National Electrical Code and application to design.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, construction background and/or work experience.
