About the position

As an Electrical Engineer at Cosentini Associates, you will lead, design, and manage a portfolio of projects, applying your expertise in electrical power design for various building types, including hospitals, laboratories, and high-rise residential buildings. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative and sustainable design projects that aim to create energy-efficient systems, contributing to the standards of building system design.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical power design for a variety of projects including hospitals, laboratories, high-rise residential, hotels, and other commercial and institutional projects.
  • Incorporate design changes using AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
  • Perform service load calculations and short circuit studies.
  • Meet project schedules and perform work within budgetary constraints.
  • Attend meetings with architects, owners, and building managers to discuss future or current projects.
  • Review submittals and provide responses to Requests for Information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in the design of building power systems for high-rise residential, hotel, and office buildings, as well as other commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent technical skills, strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • PE registration is highly preferred, or EIT with the ability to obtain a P.E.
