About the position

The Electrical Engineer - Facilities position at Canvas involves supporting the 704th Test Support Squadron at Holloman AFB, NM. The role focuses on managing construction projects, improving infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with DoD facility requirements. The engineer will oversee various electrical systems and contribute to a strategic financial plan for significant funding projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage new construction projects.
• Improve existing infrastructure.
• Write statements of work and develop independent government estimates.
• Perform surveillance over contractors.
• Program UMMC ($4M-9M) and MILCON ($9M+) projects.
• Support a perpetual 3- to 5-year strategic Financial Plan for a $2.5B funding surge.
• Manage interior and exterior electric systems, transformers, ground stations, and transmission lines for 280 facilities.
• Adhere to established schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and up to 3 years of relevant experience; Master's degree desired.
• Familiarity with facility infrastructure needs of a DoD Installation.
• Knowledge of building codes applicable to DoD facilities.
• Familiarity with MILCON requirements.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• 3-5 years of experience, preferably at an AF Installation.
• Knowledge of test facilities desired.
• Must have and maintain a Secret security clearance.
