About the position

The Field Service Engineer position at Siemens Energy focuses on servicing integrated industrial solutions with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Systems technologies, specifically for the Marine and Oil & Gas industries. The role involves extensive travel to customer sites for troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, and commissioning of Siemens Energy drive control systems. The engineer will collaborate with local engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions, requiring a strong educational background and hands-on experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Commission customized drive solutions for propulsion, drilling drive, and pumping systems onboard marine vessels.
• Maintain and fault find propulsion, drilling drive, and pumping systems.
• Collaborate with designers to test, commission, troubleshoot, and update integrated system drawings.
• Plan workload and specific tasks to ensure timely completions.
• Travel extensively to customer sites for service and support.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or 5+ years of relevant experience in Marine or a related industry.
• Hands-on experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Drive/Motor System Solution Design or Service/Commissioning.
• Willingness and ability to travel 80% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

• Marine, Drilling or Offshore production working experience.
• Automation/SCADA programming experience.
• Siemens Energy Automation hands-on experience.
• Familiarity with North American and international codes and standards, OSHA, and safety procedures.
