About the position

The R&D Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in the Research and Development team, focusing on the design and development of advanced capital systems for medical devices. This position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and hands-on testing in a regulated environment, aiming to enhance the operating room and office experience for patients and clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical hardware development, integration, and testing for capital systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional experts to solve complex engineering and business challenges
• Translate technical results into understandable recommendations for senior stakeholders
• Manage third-party designers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
• Evaluate advanced technologies using analytical and bench testing approaches

Requirements

• Must have an Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering Degree
• 3-5 years of experience in a Medical Device or FDA regulated environment
• Proficiency with lab equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and analyzers
• Solid background in Electrical Engineering concepts such as circuit theory and semiconductor physics
• Proven self-starter who addresses critical issues and ambiguous requirements
• Skilled problem solver with hands-on troubleshooting experience
• Experience with Standards and Compliance such as 60601 is a plus

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with problem-solving methodologies (i.e. Shainin, DOE, etc.)
• Experience in heavy documentation and working with various development teams
• Hands-on testing experience
