About the position

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a diverse team focused on developing innovative solutions for complex problems in the Test Instrumentation & Lethal Mechanisms Portfolio. This role involves creating Fuzing Systems, Proximity Sensors, and telemetry systems for various defense applications, contributing to hardware that supports and defends War Fighters. The position requires collaboration with manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle and encompasses a range of technologies including analog and digital electronic design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test complex electronic hardware for defense applications.
• Support the manufacturing team throughout the lifecycle of each product.
• Engage in concept development and circuit design for various products.
• Integrate payloads and systems for defense applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) plus 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with concept development and circuit design.
• Proficiency in using Mentor Graphics E-CAD schematic capture software.
• Ability to debug electronic hardware using standard laboratory equipment.
• Must be a US citizen and a resident of Huntsville, Alabama, or willing to relocate.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a final secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Altium schematic capture and PCB layout E-CAD.
• C programming skills for embedded micro-processors.
• Experience in GUI development for test interfaces using Python, LabView, etc.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in product manufacturing support.
