SSOE is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer to work with a team of junior and senior electrical engineers in the design of state-of-the-art industrial and manufacturing facilities for the world's leading companies. SSOE is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as an Electrical Team Leader for automotive and industrial projects. As a Project Lead, you will be assigned to selected projects. You will direct designers and Revit modelers, and act as technical support on other projects. Other responsibilities include mentoring junior staff and maintaining technical knowledge on industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with consulting on design in power distribution, lighting, and grounding for automotive and industrial plants. Must possess excellent collaboration and communication skills with different disciplines and teams across various locations. You will function as the electrical team leader on selected projects, which includes meeting with clients to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction as required. You may also support other project leaders on specific design tasks or calculations. Typical design tasks include power distribution at low and medium voltage, industrial lighting design, control and calculations, grounding system design, and power study analysis. You will act as a coach and mentor while providing design direction to designers and junior-level staff. It is essential to maintain a professional license and stay current with industry standards and installation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Function as electrical team leader on selected projects.
  • Meet with clients to define project scope and present project progress.
  • Assure client satisfaction as required.
  • Direct designers and Revit modelers on assigned projects.
  • Act as technical support on other projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and maintain technical knowledge on industry standards.
  • Support other project leaders on specific design tasks or calculations.
  • Perform typical design tasks including power distribution, industrial lighting design, control and calculations, grounding system design, and power study analysis.
  • Act as a coach and mentor while providing design direction to designers and junior level staff.
  • Maintain professional license and stay current with industry standards and installation practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Certification as an Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) and PE tracked preferred.
  • Minimum of six years related experience, industrial and/or automotive experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working at a consulting firm is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD platforms with emphasis on Revit.
  • Good understanding of electrical design and Revit tools.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the NEC and experience with power study software (SKM or ETAP).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a small team on mid to large size projects, from start to finish.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to obtain company insurance coverage.
