About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Actalent involves working on complex building systems projects, focusing on electrical design and management. The role requires expertise in power distribution, lighting, and electrical panels, with a strong emphasis on utilizing AutoCAD and Revit for design tasks. This hybrid position allows for office work four days a week, with remote work on Fridays, providing flexibility while engaging in significant engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering calculations, load calculations, equipment selection, energy analysis, psychrometric analysis, controls, fixture loading, pressure loss, and duct sizing.
• Write specifications for electrical systems and components.
• Effectively manage time and budget to meet project deliverables and schedules.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to complete drawings and designs.
• Calculate power and lighting loads for new and existing building systems.
• Review local and national codes and perform code analyses.
• Design life safety systems, including fire alarm systems.
• Select and design the layout of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, electrical panels, emergency generators, UPS systems, and power distribution systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in electrical design for building systems such as power distribution, lighting, and electrical panels.
• Experience utilizing AutoCAD MEP and Revit is a must.
• Experience in load calculation is a must.
• Some experience managing small to medium-sized projects.
