The successful candidate will prioritize safety in all aspects of their work, ensuring that both personal and team safety is maintained as the number one priority. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles as they apply to the electric utility system, particularly in the context of SCADA and related technologies. As part of the engineering team, the Engineer will be responsible for system configuration, database management, and display updates, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Troubleshooting and problem-solving will be key components of the role, as the engineer will need to identify and resolve system issues effectively. Additionally, the position requires a solid understanding of the communication infrastructure associated with DSCADA, which is essential for maintaining system integrity and performance. The role is structured to accommodate various levels of experience, from entry-level Engineer I positions to more experienced Engineer II and Senior Engineer roles. Each level has specific qualifications and responsibilities, with the Senior Engineer expected to lead projects and provide guidance to junior engineers. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with staff, management, and field personnel. Furthermore, the engineer must be proactive in protecting networks and data from cyber threats, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.
