About the position

The Electrical Engineer I position at Technology Service Corporation is designed for a flexible individual who possesses experience and/or interest in various software development environments and types of software engineering. The ideal candidate will assist in developing embedded firmware, front-end applications for data display and processing, database interactions, and LabVIEW-based automated test and control solutions. This role is crucial in ensuring that the products meet customer specifications and adhere to appropriate standards. The responsibilities of this position will vary based on the candidate's expertise, but may include developing C and C++ based embedded firmware, maintaining and creating new C# front-end applications, and creating tools for data storage, display, and reporting from SQL Server. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for maintaining automated test and control systems in LabVIEW and interfacing with customers and vendors to ensure product performance. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or a related engineering discipline, along with technical internship experience. The candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of electrical circuits, experience with SQL Server, LabVIEW, and Python, as well as familiarity with various communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, Serial, and CAN.

Responsibilities

  • Develop C and C++ based embedded firmware
  • Assist with maintaining and creating new C# front-end applications for displaying and processing data
  • Create tools for storing, displaying, and reporting data from SQL Server
  • Maintain automated test and control systems in LabVIEW
  • Interface with customers and vendors to ensure product performance is to customer specifications and to appropriate standards

Requirements

  • Experience in C, C++, and/or C#
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or related engineering discipline with technical internship experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and reading schematics
  • Experience with SQL Server, LabVIEW, and Python
  • Experience with a variety of communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, Serial, CAN
