About the position

The Digital, RF and Power Team at Raytheon is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our innovative team. This role is pivotal in designing and analyzing digital electronics circuits that are integral to missile guidance, video, and digital signal processing. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of engineers to leverage cutting-edge technology in the development of digital electronic modules and circuit card assemblies (CCAs) for missile applications. The position requires a strong foundation in digital electronics design, including experience with high-speed digital electronics, configurable logic, and multiprocessor designs. The Effector Digital Products Department is responsible for the entire lifecycle of digital electronic circuit cards, from proposal through to production, ensuring that our systems can withstand extreme environments, from the vacuum of space to the depths of the ocean. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, simulation, testing, and integration of digital electronic modules. This includes working with various hardware components such as processors, FPGAs, and memory, as well as industry-standard interfaces like PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of circuit card design and the ability to take a design concept from initial requirements to a fully developed hardware design, followed by verification through testing and integration. Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze digital electronic modules and circuit card assemblies (CCAs) for missile applications.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement digital electronics circuits.
  • Conduct simulations and tests to verify the functionality of designs.
  • Integrate hardware components including processors, FPGAs, and memory into circuit designs.
  • Utilize industry-standard interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART in designs.
  • Support the entire lifecycle of digital electronic circuit cards from proposal to production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical engineering circuit design experience.
  • Experience in the development and design of multi-assembly system circuit designs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in taking a design concept from block diagram to complete hardware design.
  • Expertise in PCB design processes and tools for schematic capture and simulation.
  • Familiarity with Mentor Graphics Design Creation tools: DxDesigner, xDX Designer VX, and Expedition.
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics PCB design software: HyperLynx and Xpedition Enterprise.
