About the position

As an Electrical Engineer II/Sr. with the Greenheck Group, you will be immersed in a variety of tasks related to power electronics design. This role encompasses responsibilities such as PCB schematic/layout, design simulations, PCBA prototype builds, software and firmware development, product verification, and exploring design alternatives and certifications. You will be tasked with designing, implementing, and troubleshooting control systems for power electronic products, including inverters and rectifiers. Collaboration with power electronics consultants will be essential as you track design progress and build a comprehensive understanding of motor control, drive design, tuning, and troubleshooting. Your role will also involve ensuring that new products comply with safety and agency requirements, such as those set by Underwriters Laboratory. You will work closely with procurement to ensure seamless integration of engineering efforts with changes in purchased component design. Utilizing Design for Excellence (DFX) tools, you will contribute to new product designs, redesigns, and value engineering projects, aiming to create cost-effective and manufacturable products. Additionally, you will develop software and firmware tailored to meet business unit needs based on specific application operating parameters. Staying abreast of emerging technologies in power electronics and electric motor control will be crucial. You will create test procedures to verify hardware and firmware designs and prepare technical reports detailing results and design decisions. As you build proficiency in all aspects of drive and controls for Greenheck, you will act as a subject matter expert, providing education and support to business unit partners. Your expertise will extend to system-level design and integration of power electronic circuits, supporting supplier validation and quoting efforts for electrical components across the entire PCB assembly spectrum. You will collaborate with supply chain partners and engineering teams to identify value engineering opportunities and component substitutions, while also addressing technical questions throughout the quoting process for PCBA's and PCB's. Ultimately, you will become a resident expert on PCB architecture and the technical aspects of their construction and manufacturing.
