About the position

The Electrical Engineer II - Technical Support Machines role at Honeywell involves providing reliable technical assistance to both internal and external customers. The position focuses on delivering professional coverage of the Technical Support Helpdesk, ensuring accuracy, timely feedback, and high customer satisfaction. The engineer will be responsible for identifying, investigating, and resolving technical issues while building internal relationships to expedite complicated cases. This role also emphasizes the importance of knowledge sharing and the development of Technical Support processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reliable technical assistance to internal and external customers.
  • Cover the Technical Support Helpdesk professionally.
  • Drive timely identification, investigation, resolution, and root cause analysis of technical issues.
  • Build internal relationships to expedite complicated cases.
  • Develop a broad understanding of customer needs.
  • Support knowledge-sharing methodologies and tools.
  • Help develop Technical Support processes.
  • Ensure proper documentation and recording of all activity and communication.
  • Address systemic coordination issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Experience with PLCs.
  • Advanced level troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Ability to be flexible and work any shift.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering (or related 2-year degree and 7 years of experience).
  • Customer facing experience.
  • Experience in the industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.
  • Ability to focus on relevant information and identify and execute on key details.
  • Capability to apply broad knowledge of one professional discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical/operational practices.
  • Ambitious and able to work with little supervision by consistently taking the initiative to get things done.
  • Capability to update, modify, and perfect working methods in your role by following defined procedures.
  • Interest and skill to collaborate with engineering functional teams.
  • Ability to consistently make and execute timely decisions even in the face of complexity.
  • Ability to evaluate, recommend, and implement technical solutions based on standard or accepted technical practices.
  • Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts.
  • Experience programming and installing Allen-Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, Panel View (HMI), or Lenze PLCs.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software, Electrical Schematics & Electrical Drawings Layout.
  • Experience with SQL, Creating queries, and Data Analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset, strong leadership impact.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com and SharePoint.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Some experience with a variety of the business product programming language.
